Prayagraj, Aug 27 (INB) In Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test (UPTET) 2026, more than 13.3 lakh candidates have qualified with 80.07 per cent clearing the primary-level examination and 71.85 per cent the upper-primary level, according to the Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission (UPESSC). The UPESSC, which conducted the examination, declared the UPTET 2026 results on Wednesday, it said in a statement. At the primary level (Classes 1 to 5), 5,71,435 of the 7,13,648 candidates who appeared for the examination were declared successful, recording a pass percentage of 80.07, the commission said. At the upper-primary level (Classes 6 to 8), 7,59,513 candidates qualified out of the 10,57,021 who appeared, resulting in a pass percentage of 71.85, it said. The examination was conducted on July 2 and 3 in two shifts each and on July 4 in a single shift, with a total of five shifts across 955 examination centres in 60 districts of Uttar Pradesh, according to the UPESSC. The commission said the examination was conducted in five shifts over three days in view of the large number of registered candidates, which stood at 19,94,661. For candidates already working as teachers, 93,387 out of 1,22,405 candidates appearing at the primary level qualified, a success rate of 76.29 per cent, the UPESSC said. At the upper-primary level, 1,13,384 of the 1,46,394 working teachers who appeared were declared successful, recording a pass percentage of 77.45, it said. The commission said the results had been prepared following the process prescribed in the examination advertisement for comparative evaluation of candidates. Candidates can check their results on the official website of the UP Education Service Selection Commission, it said.
