Ashoka University sets a deadline of Jun 26 for M. Economics, Data Analytics Programme

New Delhi, June 22(INB) Ashoka University has announced the final round of applications for its one-year MA Economics and Data Analytics programme for which interested and eligible candidates will need to apply by June 26, 2026.
The interdisciplinary programme is designed to equip students with advanced quantitative, analytical and data-driven decision-making skills, preparing them for careers in finance, consulting, analytics, public policy, research and business intelligence.
Applicants interested in the course must have completed either a four-year undergraduate degree or a master’s degree. While the programme is open to graduates from all academic disciplines, candidates with backgrounds in Economics, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics and other quantitatively rigorous fields are particularly encouraged to apply.

The university said that students will undertake coursework in microeconomics, macroeconomics, econometrics, time series econometrics, statistical learning and data analytics. The curriculum also includes advanced industry-focused courses such as Machine Learning Models for Economics, Financial Risk Analytics, Cloud Analytics and Data Visualisation.
The programme aims to develop students’ ability to analyse complex datasets, generate actionable insights and address real-world challenges across sectors. It combines economic reasoning with expertise in econometrics, machine learning, cloud analytics, data visualisation and applied quantitative methods.
Prof. Ashwini Deshpande, Professor of Economics and Head of the Department of Economics at Ashoka University, said that contemporary challenges in business, finance, public policy and development require professionals capable of integrating economic reasoning with data-driven decision-making.
“The programme equips students with a strong foundation in economics, econometrics, statistical learning and data analytics, enabling them to generate insights from complex datasets and apply them to real-world problems. It prepares students for impactful careers across industry, research, policymaking and academia,” she said.

Admissions will be conducted through an online application process. Applications will be shortlisted based on an admission test, following which selected candidates will be invited for interviews. Admission offers will be made after the interview stage, and successful applicants will complete enrolment and onboarding formalities.
