New Delhi, Jul 20 (INB) Nearly 60 per cent of students who appeared for improvement in the Central Board of Secondary Education’s (CBSE) Class X Second Board Examination 2026 improved their performance, while the overall pass percentage after combining the main and second board examinations stood at 96.78 per cent, the board said in a statement.
The CBSE declared the results of the Class X Second Board Examination 2026, which was introduced from this year in line with the recommendations of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. The second examination offered eligible students an additional opportunity to improve their scores, with the better of the two performances considered for the final result.
According to the board, 6,64,027 candidates registered for the second board examination, of whom 6,63,777 appeared. A total of 5,13,955 students took the examination to improve their marks, and 3,08,095 of them, or 59.95 per cent, improved their performance over the main examination.
The board said 1,49,822 students appeared under the compartment category, of whom 78,503 passed, recording a pass percentage of 52.40 per cent, an improvement over 48.68 per cent recorded in 2025.
Students can access their results through the DigiLocker Results Portal. School-wise results and digital academic documents have also been made available to affiliated schools through the CBSE repository.
The board said students of CBSE-affiliated schools abroad can also access their results and digital documents through DigiLocker. Printed mark sheets and passing certificates for regular students will be distributed through their schools, while private candidates will receive printed documents at their registered addresses.
CBSE said details regarding post-result services will be notified separately and advised students and parents to rely only on official communication channels for authentic information regarding the result process.
