New Delhi, Jul 23 (INB) The Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs) has announced that the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) 2027 will be held on December 6, 2026, while the online application process will begin on August 3 and continue until October 31, According to press release of the Consortium.
The announcement follows meetings of the Executive Committee and Governing Body held on July 18, there will be no changes to the syllabus or exam pattern for CLAT 2027.The examination will be conducted from 2 pm to 4 pm on December 6. The consortium said the CLAT 2027 online application portal will remain open from August 3 to October 31, 2026. Detailed information regarding the admission process will be notified separately. The Governing Body also accepted the recommendations of the CLAT Expert Committee that the existing syllabus, sections and examination pattern for both undergraduate and postgraduate papers will remain unchanged for CLAT 2027. It said paper setters would consider the committee’s suggestions on question format and quality wherever feasible. The consortium further announced that the CLAT Expert Committee Report 2026 has been published on its website consortiumofnlus.ac.in, to invite feedback from experts, students and the public. Suggestions on the report can be submitted until August 31, 2026. It also said that a committee to be constituted by the Office of the Chief Justice of India would further examine the expert committee’s recommendations. Inputs received from the public consultation and the committee’s deliberations will be considered while preparing for CLAT 2028.
