NEP 2020 key to building inclusive, skill-centric education system: Sukanta Majumdar

New Delhi, Jul 24 (INB) The National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 is laying the foundation for an inclusive, skill-centric and future-ready education system, Union Minister of State for Education Sukanta Majumdar said on Thursday.
At the concluding session of the two-day Conclave of State and Union Territory Education Ministers, the minister urged for effective implementation of centrally sponsored schemes to achieve the Viksit Bharat 2047, an official statement said.
Majumdar called for greater collaboration between the Centre and states to address challenges in school education and ensure every child, teacher and school is empowered.
Majumdar highlighted the role of flagship schemes such as Samagra Shiksha, PM SHRI, PM POSHAN and ULLAS in improving access to quality education and learning outcomes.
He also underscored the importance of PM POSHAN and the Tithi Bhojan initiative in strengthening the nutritional well-being of schoolchildren, particularly those from marginalised communities.
The second day of the conclave focused on key components of Samagra Shiksha and PM POSHAN under the PRAGATI platform, with presentations by senior officials of the Ministry of Education on PM SHRI, ULLAS, inclusive education, skill education and PM POSHAN.
Education ministers and officials from states and UTs shared suggestions, best practices and experiences during presentations and an open-house discussion aimed at improving implementation of centrally sponsored schemes and enhancing learning outcomes.
The conclave concluded with a reaffirmation of the Centre and states’ commitment to ensuring equitable, inclusive and quality school education for all learners and advancing the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047.
