IIT Kanpur, Havells India sign MoU for research, innovation in next-generation energy solutions

Kanpur, Aug 10 (INB) The Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur and Havells India Ltd have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate on research and technological innovation in next-generation energy solutions, the premier institute said on Monday. According to a post on IIT Kanpur’s official LinkedIn account, the collaboration marks the beginning of a long-term partnership aimed at developing practical and scalable technologies to support India’s transition towards cleaner, resilient and self-reliant energy systems. The MoU was signed by Wasim Shora, Vice President-Sales, Havells SDA, and Prof Jayandharan G Rao, Dean, Research and Development, IIT Kanpur. Prof Rajeev Jindal and Prof Manoj Kumar Tiwari from IIT Kanpur attended the signing ceremony along with a Havells India delegation comprising Diwan Singh Kholia, Mudit Shastri, Ashish, Dr Ashutosh and Real, according to the post. The institute also acknowledged the contribution of its alumni Hari Shankar and Ajay Trivedi for helping align industry capabilities with academic research, which it said played an important role in facilitating the agreement. The partnership will focus on research with potential applications in areas including energy security, clean technologies and sustainability, reflecting the two organisations’ shared vision of contributing to India’s energy transition and the Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative.
