IIT Delhi opens admissions for advanced strategic management programme

New Delhi, Oct 12 (INB) The Continuing Education Programme (CEP) of the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi has opened admissions for the sixth batch of its Executive Management Programme in Advanced Strategic Management, designed for experienced professionals aspiring to take up larger leadership roles, an official statement said. The 10-month programme aims to help professionals strengthen their strategic thinking and understand how business strategies are formulated, evaluated and implemented amid technological changes, market disruptions and increasing global competition, according to an official statement. Prof. Sanjay Dhir of the Department of Management Studies at IIT Delhi said strategy had become a core business requirement as leaders were expected to respond to disruptions in real time. “Disruption today does not wait for the next business cycle. Leaders have to respond as it unfolds. That makes strategy a core business need, not just a leadership edge,” Dhir said, adding that the programme would help experienced professionals apply strategic thinking to workplace decisions. The curriculum covers strategic intent and performance, strategic learning, innovation, decision-making in data-driven environments, leadership and change management, business transformation, global business strategy and artificial intelligence in business strategy. Participants will also undertake a capstone project applying the concepts learnt during the programme to a real-world business challenge. The programme’s focus on emerging technologies comes amid growing corporate interest in strategic leadership and artificial intelligence. According to the press release, Deloitte’s 2023 Chief Strategy Officer Survey found that 74 per cent of organisations had a chief strategy officer function, marking a 12 per cent increase since 2021. The Spring 2025 Fortune/Deloitte CEO Survey found that 89 per cent of CEOs were exploring, piloting or implementing agentic artificial intelligence.
