Pune, Sept 14 (INB) The Inter-University Centre for Astronomy and Astrophysics (IUCAA), Pune, has scheduled IUCAA National Admission Test (INAT-2027) for admission to its PhD and joint MSc programme in Physics with Astrophysics on January 17, 2027, the institute said in an official notice.
The test will be used to select candidates for PhD programmes in Astronomy, Astrophysics and Physics. Shortlisted candidates for the PhD programme will subsequently undergo two rounds of interviews at IUCAA, Pune.
The INAT-2027 written examination will be conducted on Sunday, January 17, 2027, at 10 am in various cities across the country, IUCAA said. The deadline for application is November 30, 2026.
The examination will also be used for admission to the SPPU-IUCAA Joint MSc (Physics with Astrophysics) programme, for which selection will be based solely on candidates’ performance in the INAT-2027 written test, according to an UGC Linkedin post on September 12. IUCAA is an autonomous institution set up by the University Grants Commission and is located on the Savitribai Phule Pune University campus. The centre undertakes research across Astronomy, Astrophysics and Physics and participates in several national and international mega-science projects. The institute said further details regarding important dates and the admission process are available through the official INAT-2027 portal.
