New Delhi, Jul 16 (INB) The Consortium for Educational Communication (CEC) is inviting entries for 28th CEC-UGC Educational Film Festival where winners can get cash awards of up to Rs 1 lakh across multiple categories, an official post said on Thursday.
Applicants can submit their entry by July 25.
The festival is open to universities, academic and educational institutions, private organisations, media houses, and individual producers and directors from India and abroad, offering cash awards of up to Rs 1 lakh across multiple categories.
The annual Educational Film Festival aims to encourage and recognise excellence in educational video programme production.
The festival, which began in 1988, is open to national and international participation. According to the announcement, entries are invited for films and documentaries produced in Hindi or English. Films made in other languages must be accompanied by English subtitles. Only one entry is permitted in each category.
The awards are divided into five broad categories. Under Imaginative Creation, the Best Film/Documentary Award carries a cash prize of Rs 1 lakh, while the Best Short Film Award carries Rs 50,000.
The Innovative ICT Mediated Learning category includes awards for Innovative Lecture (Academician) and Best MOOCs, with each winner receiving Rs 50,000. The Technical Excellence section features awards for Best Research, Script Writing, Cinematography, Editing, Sound Design, and Visual Effects & Animation, with each carrying a prize of Rs 25,000.
An Amateur Video Production of the Year award worth Rs 25,000 has been announced for students pursuing Mass Communication, Journalism, Film/TV and allied professional courses in Indian educational institutions.
A separate Best Programme of the Year award carrying Rs 50,000 has been reserved exclusively for UGC-CEC Media Centres. Entries must be submitted in the prescribed format along with the required annexures.
Participants can send their entries by post, courier, in person, or electronically through email or Google Drive, as specified in the notification.
The list of selected and award-winning entries will be uploaded on the CEC website and communicated to winners through email.
