Governor Anandiben Patel honours students at Maharaja Suhel Dev University convocation

Lucknow, Aug 12 (INB) Uttar Pradesh Governor and Chancellor of state universities Anandiben Patel honoured 24 students from five villages adopted by Maharaja Suhel Dev University, Azamgarh, during the university’s third convocation, according to an official press release. According to the release issued on Tuesday by Jan Bhawan, the students were recognised for winning speech, storytelling and painting competitions organised in schools in the adopted villages of Sonapur, Mahroopur, Dharwara, Seehi and Samenda. Students received certificates and educational kits, while books, school bags, colouring materials and inspirational stories were distributed among schoolchildren. Patel praised the students’ performances and urged the university to identify and continuously nurture their talents. She also congratulated the teachers for preparing the children for stage performances. The event was attended by Uttar Pradesh Higher Education Minister Yogendra Upadhyay, Padma Vibhushan flautist Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia and university Vice-Chancellor Prof. Sanjeev Kumar, among others.
