New Delhi, Jul 15 (INB) The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi hosted the third Global Forum and International Conference on Industrial Plasma Processes and Diagnostics (IPPD 2026), showcasing plasma technologies with applications in clean energy, healthcare, agriculture, semiconductor manufacturing and environmental sustainability.
The three-day conference, held from July 1 to 3, was jointly organised by the institute’s Department of Energy Science and Engineering and Department of Physics. It brought together scientists, academicians, industry experts, research scholars and students from India and abroad.
IIT Delhi Director Prof. Rangan Banerjee highlighted the role of interdisciplinary research in addressing global challenges related to clean energy, environmental protection and advanced manufacturing.
The conference featured plenary and keynote lectures by leading experts from India and overseas on topics including hydrogen-based plasma technologies, fusion energy, plasma medicine, semiconductor processing, quantum agriculture and sustainable industrial applications.
Industry sessions, student presentations and panel discussions focused on strengthening academia-industry collaboration and accelerating the translation of plasma research into technologies that benefit society. The conference also honoured Prof. A. Ganguli for his pioneering contributions to plasma science.
