New Delhi, Aug 11 (INB) A three-day faculty development programme focusing on ICT, blended learning and emerging technologies in education is being organised by the Central Institute of Educational Technology (CIET)-NCERT in collaboration with Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI), according to an official statement on Tuesday. The programme, which commenced on Monday, is aimed at empowering educators with Information and Communication Technology (ICT) skills and digital learning resources, the NCERT said in a post on its official LinkedIn account. The programme is being held from August 10 to 12 at the Seminar Hall, FTK, JMI, New Delhi, and has brought together 115 participants, including faculty members from State Councils of Educational Research and Training (SCERTs) and District Institutes of Education and Training (DIETs). The inaugural session was attended by Prof P C Agarwal, Joint Director, NCERT, and Prof Mazhar Asif, Vice-Chancellor, JMI, along with Prof Aejaz Masih, Head, Department of Educational Studies, JMI, and Prof Shireesh Pal Singh, Head, DICT & TD, CIET-NCERT, the NCERT said. According to the post, the programme focuses on strengthening educators’ understanding and use of ICT, blended learning approaches and digital learning resources to support contemporary teaching and learning practices. The initiative is intended to provide participating educators with exposure to emerging technologies and approaches that can be integrated into educational settings, the post said. Prof Shireesh Pal Singh, Head, DICT & TD, CIET-NCERT, is coordinating the programme, according to the NCERT.
