Noida, June 29 (INB) Uttar Pradesh’s Gautam Buddh Nagar administration has revised school timings for Classes 1 to 8 in view of the prevailing heatwave, directing all schools to operate from 7 am to 12 noon with immediate effect.
The order was issued by the District Basic Education Officer (BSA), Gautam Buddh Nagar, Rahul Panwar following approval from the District Magistrate, Medha Roopam citing rising temperatures and the need to protect students from extreme heat.
According to the directive, the revised timings will apply to all council-run, aided, recognised, CBSE, ICSE, madrasa and other board-affiliated schools in the district for students studying in Classes 1 to 8.
The BSA has instructed all schools to ensure strict compliance with the revised schedule and take necessary measures to safeguard the health and well-being of students during the ongoing spell of high temperatures.
Copies of the order have been forwarded to the Director of School Education, the District Magistrate, the District Inspector of Schools, Basic Education officials and Block Education Officers for implementation.
The district administration said the decision has been taken as a precautionary measure to minimise students’ exposure to extreme heat during school hours.
