UPESSC extends application deadline for assistant teacher posts to Nov 4

Prayagraj, Oct 29 (INB) The Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission (UPESSC) has extended the application deadline for certain assistant teacher posts by one week to November 4, it said. This has been done following the inclusion of two additional qualifications for assistant teachers in the primary sections of aided secondary schools, the panel said. The eligibility criteria for assistant teacher (attached primary section) posts were revised following an Allahabad High Court order dated October 24 and the state government’s approval issued on October 27, the commission said in a statement on Wednesday. The two newly-recognised qualifications are a two-year Diploma in Education (Special Education) approved by the Rehabilitation Council of India and a four-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed), it stated. The commission said candidates seeking to apply for the posts under the revised eligibility criteria can submit their applications by November 4, replacing the earlier deadline of October 28. The deadline for making corrections to application forms has also been extended to November 7. However, the commission clarified that the written examination for the advertised posts will be held on December 3 and 4 as scheduled. The advertisement covers assistant teacher posts in urban primary schools under the Basic Education Department and assistant teacher posts in primary sections of non-government aided schools under the Secondary Education Department.
