Delhi University begins UG admissions with over 93000 seats allotted across 67 colleges

New Delhi, Jul 18 (INB) The University of Delhi (DU) on Thursday announced the results of the first round of undergraduate admissions for the 2026-27 academic session, allocating 93,033 seats across 221 programmes in 67 colleges, the varsity said in a statement.
A total of 2,18,284 candidates registered for the admission process, while 2,08,043 completed Phase II of the Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS). The university considered over 15.94 lakh programme-college preferences before making the allocations.
DU said the overall allocation rate stood at around 86.1 per cent. Of the allotted candidates, 42,019 are male and 51,014 are female. The university also allocated seats to 1,243 single girl child candidates and 242 orphan candidates.
Among categories, the fill rate was 99.9 per cent for the unreserved category, followed by 96 per cent for OBC, 95.2 per cent for SC, 92.7 per cent for EWS, 67.3 per cent for ST and 23 per cent for PwBD.
The university advised candidates allotted seats to accept their allocation by 11:59 pm on July 18, complete the fee payment after receiving the payment link, and exercise the “upgrade” option, if desired, by 11:59 pm on July 21.
DU also shared updates on postgraduate admissions, stating that 10,240 candidates have been admitted to two-year PG programmes so far, while 6,240 candidates have opted to freeze their seats and 2,153 have chosen the upgrade option. Classes for the 2026-27 academic session will commence on July 28, the university said.
