New Delhi, Jul 31 (INB) The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has recommended around 3.61 lakh candidates for recruitment to various Central government posts during the last four years, the government informed Parliament on Thursday, according to an official statement. In a written reply in the Rajya Sabha, Minister of State for Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions Dr Jitendra Singh said the recommendations were made during 2022-23 to 2025-26 based on vacancy requisitions received by the SSC from various ministries and departments. He said information on sanctioned posts and persons-in-position across Central government ministries and departments is compiled in the annual reports of the Pay Research Unit under the Department of Expenditure, while detailed data on sanctioned strength, vacancies and filling of posts is maintained by the respective ministries and departments. According to the press release issued by PIB, the minister said the government has instructed all ministries and departments to report vacancies meant for direct recruitment to the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) and the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) in a timely manner to ensure vacancies are filled within prescribed timelines. He also said recruitment to Union government posts has been undertaken in mission mode, with several lakh appointment letters distributed to recommended and selected candidates through the National Rozgar Mela events being organised regularly since October 2022.
