Ahmedabad, Jul 16 (INB) The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Gandhinagar has launched the fifth season of its Curiosity Program, a STEM education initiative that will reach over 1.5 lakh girl students studying in 1,962 Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalayas (KGBVs) across eight states. The programme, run by IIT Gandhinagar’s Centre for Creative Learning in collaboration with Samagra Shiksha, began on July 14 with a student-led inaugural online session conducted by eight KGBV students from Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat and Tripura. According to the institute, the initiative aims to make mathematics and science more engaging through interactive online sessions and hands-on experiments, while encouraging leadership, inquiry-based learning and confidence among girls from educationally and socio-economically disadvantaged communities.IIT Gandhinagar said the programme has helped improve students’ interest in STEM subjects, persistence in learning tasks and application of classroom concepts to real-life situations, creating a more inclusive learning ecosystem for girls with limited access to quality science education.
