Imarticus Learning, IIT Kanpur academy launch industry-focused AI courses for undergraduates

Mumbai, Oct 14 (INB) Imarticus Learning, in association with E&ICT Academy, IIT Kanpur, has launched a portfolio of industry-focused certificate programmes to equip undergraduate students with skills in emerging technology and finance sectors, the company said on Wednesday. The initiative, titled Future Skills for Bharat, has opened enrolments for two programmes — AI Engineering and Infrastructure, and AI for Finance — with Electric Vehicle (EV) Technology and FinTech and Digital Finance planned for subsequent launches. According to a company statement, the portfolio aims to bridge the gap between undergraduate education and industry requirements across sectors driving India’s economic growth, including artificial intelligence, data centres, semiconductors, robotics, electric mobility and digital finance. The AI Engineering and Infrastructure programme will cover large language models (LLMs), retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), AI agents, application programming interfaces (APIs), cloud computing, graphics processing units (GPUs) and responsible AI. It is designed to familiarise students with building, deploying, monitoring and scaling AI systems, it stated. The AI for Finance programme will focus on the application of artificial intelligence in financial analysis, forecasting, credit risk assessment, fraud detection and investment research. The company said the programme does not require a coding background. The upcoming EV Technology course will cover battery systems, battery management systems, motors, power electronics, thermal management, charging infrastructure and vehicle software. The FinTech and Digital Finance programme will focus on India Stack, UPI, digital lending, wealth technology and regulatory technology. Imarticus Learning Founder and CEO Nikhil Barshikar said industry requirements were changing rapidly, making it necessary for students to develop practical skills alongside academic knowledge. Dr ARKS Srinivas, Joint Academic Coordinator at EICTA, IIT Kanpur, said the programmes would help students understand the technologies and infrastructure underpinning AI and develop capabilities relevant to industry requirements. The portfolio is primarily aimed at BTech students across disciplines such as mechanical, electrical, electronics and communication, and computer science engineering. Select programmes, including AI for Finance and FinTech and Digital Finance, are also relevant to BCom, BBA and other commerce students. Students who fulfil the programme requirements will receive a completion certificate under E&ICT Academy, IIT Kanpur. The company clarified that the programmes do not confer an IIT degree, diploma or alumni status. Imarticus Learning, founded in 2012, provides professional education, certification preparation, executive education and workforce-skilling programmes across multiple sectors.
