Ajmer, Sep 30 (INB) Education advisory body NCERT is organising a five-day capacity-building programme for teacher educators with teachers training institutes, DIETs and SCERTs, across northern India to strengthen their professional capabilities and support implementation of key education reforms, the centre backed autonomous body said.
The programme, being organised by NCERT’s Department of Teacher Education, is being held from September 28 to October 2 at the Regional Institute of Education (RIE), Ajmer, the council said in a LinkedIn post on Tuesday.
Sessions during the programme are focused on key areas related to the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, National Curriculum Framework for Foundational Stage (NCF-FS) 2022, National Curriculum Framework for School Education (NCF-SE) 2023 and the plan under Samagra Shiksha to transform DIETs into Centres of Excellence, it added. A total of 60 participants from 10 northern states and Union Territories are attending the programme. They include representatives from Chandigarh, Delhi, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Punjab, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand, it added. The programme was inaugurated by Prof K Chandrashekhar, Dean and Acting Principal of RIE Ajmer. Prof Ayushman Goswami, Head of the Department of Education and Extension, along with Prof Anil Kumar Nainawat and Dr Ramniwas, were also present. The programme is being coordinated by Dr Jitendra Kumar Patidar of NCERT’s Department of Teacher Education, New Delhi. Dr B M Sankarshan of RIE Ajmer is assisting as co-coordinator, according to the council.
