Prayagraj, Oct 28 (INB) The Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission has urged candidates not to believe or circulate misleading information about reservation in the 17,735 assistant teacher (graduate-level) posts advertised on October 23, it said. In a clarification issued on October 27, the commission stated that misleading claims about the number of vacancies and the reservation system were being circulated by some individuals and organisations on social media and other platforms. The commission said the vacancies had been identified and compiled by the Directorate of Secondary Education based on school-wise, subject-wise and category-wise requirements submitted by various aided secondary schools across the state. Explaining the reservation mechanism, the commission said aided secondary schools are treated as separate units, with their respective managements acting as appointing authorities. Accordingly, vacancies and applicable reservation are determined school-wise under the prevailing rules, rather than by applying reservation to the total number of posts across all schools collectively. The commission stated that the same procedure was followed in recruitment processes under Advertisement Nos. 01/2022 and 02/2022, which were completed in recent months in accordance with government directions and prescribed procedures. The state government had also clarified the matter through its social media account, E-Gyan Ganga-U.P., it added. The commission appealed to candidates and the general public to verify information and refrain from believing or forwarding misleading claims circulated through social media or other sources.
