Lucknow, Aug 21 (INB) Students of City Montessori School (CMS), Gomti Nagar Campus I, have won 33 medals, including 19 gold, at the CISCE Regional Swimming Championship held in Prayagraj, the school said on Friday. The CMS swimmers bagged nine silver and five bronze medals in addition to the gold medals, according to a statement issued by the school. CMS student Aarav Shukla emerged as the standout performer, winning five gold medals in the Under-14 category in the 50m, 100m and 200m freestyle, freestyle relay and medley relay events. He also clinched the Individual Championship, the school said. The championship was organised under the aegis of the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE). In the Under-17 girls category, Dakshita Singh won four gold medals in the 50m, 100m and 200m butterfly and medley relay events, while Vanshika Srivastava secured two gold medals in the 800m and 200m freestyle events. In the Under-17 boys category, Vansh Pratap Singh won two gold medals in the 200m breaststroke and medley relay, while Priyansh Srivastava secured two gold medals in the medley relay and 200m individual medley. Kushagra Srivastava won three gold medals in the Under-14 boys category in the 100m and 50m breaststroke and medley relay events, it stated. Among the other CMS gold medallists, Enaya Arafat won the Under-14 girls 100m butterfly, Inaya Kaushik secured gold in the 200m breaststroke, and Kavya Khanna won the Under-19 girls 100m breaststroke event. Rishi Khanna, Head of Communications, CMS, shared details of the students’ performance, it added. CMS Founder-Director Dr Bharti Gandhi congratulated the swimmers on their performance and wished them success in their future endeavours, the school said. More than 250 selected students from various schools participated in the championship, according to CMS.
