ICAR invites applications for 30 international fellowships for doctoral studies in agriculture

New Delhi, Sept 7 (INB) The Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) has invited applications from Indian and overseas nationals holding a master’s degree in agriculture and allied sciences for the Netaji Subhas-ICAR International Fellowships (NS-ICARIFs) 2026.
The fellowships are offered for pursuing doctoral degrees in agriculture and allied sciences in identified priority areas, according to the ICAR Agricultural Education Division, according to a public notice issued by the Council.
Under the programme, Indian candidates can pursue doctoral studies at identified overseas universities and institutions with strong research and teaching capabilities, while overseas candidates can undertake doctoral studies at Indian Agricultural Universities in the ICAR-AU system. A total of 30 fellowships will be available for a duration of three years, ICAR said. Detailed guidelines, priority areas of study and the prescribed application proforma are available on the ICAR website, the council said. Applicants are required to submit their applications by September 25, 2026, to the Additional Director General (Human Resource Development) at adg.hrd.applications@gmail.com. Candidates have been asked to mention “Application for NSIF(Netaji Subhas International Fellowship) : Name of Applicant and contact number” in the subject line of the email while submitting their applications.
