CBSE reopens CTET application window till Sept 1 for eligible candidates

New Delhi, Aug 26 (INB) The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has reopened the online application window for the 22nd edition of the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET), providing another opportunity to eligible candidates who could not apply during the earlier registration period, according to an official notice. The public notice, issued by the CBSE on Tuesday, stated that the application portal will remain open from August 25 to September 1. The board said the decision was taken in view of a judgment of the Supreme Court which, according to the CBSE, emphasised the need to provide eligible teachers a reasonable opportunity to comply with the statutory requirement of acquiring the prescribed Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) qualification. The CBSE said the online application process for the 22nd edition of CTET had earlier been open from May 11 to June 10, as notified through its May 8 public notice. “In view of the aforesaid and in the larger interest of candidates,” the board said it has decided to provide an opportunity to all eligible candidates who could not avail themselves of the earlier application window. The CBSE also clarified that candidates who have already successfully completed and submitted their applications do not need to apply again. The board said the revised date for the 22nd edition of the CTET examination will be announced after the closure of the newly opened application portal. The CBSE has so far conducted 21 editions of the CTET, with the result of the 21st edition declared on March 30, 2026, according to the public notice.
