Udaipur, Sept 21 (INB) The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) alleged poor infrastructure and inadequate facilities at tribal schools in Rajasthan’s Kherwara area and demanded immediate measures to improve school infrastructure, according to an official statement. CJP Co-Convenor Ashutosh Ranka made the allegations after conducting a ground visit to tribal schools in Kherwara, Udaipur, the party said on Sunday. According to the CJP, students at a Government Primary Tribal School in Demat were studying in damaged mud rooms, while supplies meant for the mid-day meal were allegedly being stored inside a toilet. Ranka criticised the local administration and state leadership over the condition of the schools and alleged that tribal children were being “marginalized”. The party said one of the schools had only one teacher for 70 students across two damaged classrooms, while an adjacent Anganwadi room was also in a dilapidated condition. Ranka also alleged that an Independence Day message dated August 15 was still displayed on the classroom board, claiming that no classes or educational activities had taken place for more than a month. During a visit to another tribal school in Demat, the CJP alleged that the school was functioning from a single mud room provided by a local resident. It further claimed that government records showed the school operating from a nearby concrete building, which the party described as a ruin. Ranka questioned the condition of government schooling facilities available to tribal children and asked whether political leaders would send their own children to such schools. The CJP also alleged that the local MLA, who it said had represented the constituency for decades and had previously served as the state’s education minister, had failed to ensure basic and safe infrastructure for local students. The party said its delegation led by Ranka would continue visiting tribal areas of Rajasthan and North Gujarat until September 25 as part of its ground inspections.
