Lucknow, Sept 10 (INB) CMS Aliganj campus held its annual function with Uttar Pradesh State Information Commissioner Dilip Agnihotri as its chief guest.
Students should strive not only for professional success but also for character building, service and the welfare of humanity, Uttar Pradesh State Information Commissioner Dilip Agnihotri said at the annual function of City Montessori School here on Thursday.
Agnihotri, who was the chief guest at the annual function of CMS Aliganj Campus, said the students were inspired by the ideals of world peace and service to humanity and would grow into responsible and exemplary citizens.
He advised the students to draw inspiration from national heroes such as Swami Vivekananda, Bhagat Singh, Chandra Shekhar Azad and Ashfaqullah Khan. The Information Commissioner also highlighted the role of mothers in nation-building, according to a statement issued by CMS.
The programme was inaugurated by Agnihotri by lighting the ceremonial lamp at the CMS Gomti Nagar Extension Campus Auditorium. CMS Founder-Director Bharti Gandhi, while welcoming the chief guest and other dignitaries, said values imbibed during childhood guide an individual throughout life. She stressed the importance of a peaceful, united and spiritual atmosphere at home for the holistic development of children. CMS Managing Director Geeta Gandhi Kingdon said the purpose of education was to nurture students’ innate talents and develop them into confident and responsible citizens. She said deep understanding, creative thinking and analytical abilities were essential for building confidence among children. She added that the school had transformed its student assessment process in recent years to evaluate not only knowledge but also creative and analytical abilities. Kingdon said CMS encouraged students to dream big, develop leadership qualities and become responsible decision-makers capable of contributing meaningfully to society. The annual function featured group songs, a short play, folk dances and other educational and cultural presentations by students. Parents applauded the performances, which the school said showcased the multifaceted talents of its students and its educational philosophy. A group song and a World Parliament presentation by the students’ mothers were also appreciated by the gathering. Rashmi Dwivedi, headmistress of CMS Aliganj Campus II, thanked the parents for their support and said they played an important role in providing children opportunities to develop their inherent talents. She said the school was committed to using education as a means to nurture every child into an exemplary and responsible citizen.
