IIT Bombay to hold medal distribution ceremony as part of 64th Convocation on August 22

Mumbai, Aug 21 (INB) The Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IIT Bombay) will hold the Medal Distribution Ceremony of its 64th Convocation on August 22, with Secretary of the Department of Science and Technology (DST) Prof Umesh Waghmare attending as the chief guest, the institute said on Friday. The ceremony will be held at 6:30 pm at the Convocation Hall of IIT Bombay, according to a LinkedIn post by the institute. IIT Bombay’s official calendar lists the 64th Convocation and Departmental Degree Award Functions from August 22 to 23. Several academic excellence awards and medals will be presented during the ceremony, including the President of India Medal, Institute Gold Medal, Dr Shankar Dayal Sharma Gold Medal, Sharad Maloo Gold Medal and G H Raisoni Excellence Gold Medal. Institute Silver Medals and the Naik & Rastogi Excellence Awards for 2024-26 will also be presented, IIT Bombay said. The medal distribution ceremony is part of the institute’s 64th Convocation celebrations, which include departmental degree award functions across August 22 and 23. The event is expected to recognise academic excellence and outstanding achievements of students across various programmes at IIT Bombay. The institute said the ceremony will also be live-streamed through its official YouTube channel, enabling students, families and members of the academic community to follow the proceedings.
