IIT Roorkee organises two-day hands-on training on EVs, battery management systems

Roorkee, Aug 31 (INB) The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee organised a two-day hands-on training programme on electric vehicles (EVs) and Battery Management Systems (BMS), the premier institute said on Monday.
The programme held on August 24-25 was organised by the Department of Electrical Engineering in association with the IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Enginees) Roorkee Sub-Section, IEEE UP Section and CADFEM India Pvt Ltd, the institute said in a LinkedIn post.
The training provided participants practical exposure to emerging EV technologies and BMS, with technical insights and hands-on learning focused on electric mobility, battery technologies and their applications in sustainable transportation.
The workshop also included practical training using Ansys Electronics and Ansys SCADE software, giving participants exposure to simulation, design, modelling and system development, the institute said. Over the two days, participants gained insights into EVs, BMS, EV powertrains, battery technologies and charging infrastructure, along with their real-world applications. The programme was attended by IIT Roorkee Director Prof K K Pant, MNIT Jaipur Director Prof N P Padhy, and faculty members and officials from IIT Roorkee and CADFEM India, among others, it added. The valedictory session was attended by IIT Roorkee Deputy Director Prof Praveen Kumar, Dean (International Relations) Prof Karun Rawat and other faculty members, researchers and participants.
