New Delhi, Sept 7 (INB) IIT Roorkee will organise an Institute Lecture on “Cellular Evolution to 6G – An India Perspective” on September 11, with Prof R. David Koilpillai of IIT Madras as the speaker, the institute said on Monday.
Prof Koilpillai, Qualcomm Institute Chair Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering at IIT Madras and Chair of the Bharat 6G Alliance, will deliver the lecture at 4 pm at the Pradeep Kapse Auditorium in the Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering, IIT Roorkee, it said in a LinkedIn post.
With more than three decades of experience in wireless and cellular technologies, Koilpillai’s areas of expertise include 5G and 6G, wireless communications, non-terrestrial networks, integrated sensing and communications, and digital signal processing, the premier institute said. He is a Fellow of the Indian National Academy of Engineering and has received several distinguished recognitions for his contributions, according to IIT Roorkee. The lecture will focus on the evolution of cellular technologies towards 6G and offer an India-centric perspective on developments in next-generation wireless communication.
