New Delhi, Sept 4 (INB) The University Grants Commission (UGC) has asked Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) to organise educational tours and excursions for students and faculty to Amrit Udyan at Rashtrapati Bhavan during its current public opening, according to a public notice.
UGC Secretary Prof Shyama Rath said in the notice on Thursday, Amrit Udyan will remain open to the public for viewing the summer annuals from August 16 to September 15, 2026, between 10 am and 6 pm, except Mondays.
The UGC has specifically informed HEIs that September 5, Teachers’ Day, will be reserved exclusively for teachers, and encouraged institutions to plan visits to ensure wider participation. The commission’s notice is also listed on its official website. The bookings for visits can be made online through the Rashtrapati Bhavan website by selecting the ‘Amrit Udyan’ link under the ‘Visit’ tab, it added. The commission has requested universities and colleges to plan and organise excursion trips and educational tours for their students and faculty during the period of the garden’s opening.
