Bengaluru, Sept 29 (INB) KL University has partnered with Salesforce to establish a Tableau Lab aimed at strengthening students’ data literacy, analytical skills and exposure to artificial intelligence-powered analytics, it said on Tuesday. The industry-academia initiative will provide students hands-on experience with Tableau and introduce them to agentic analytics, enabling them to explore how organisations use data, insights and AI for business decision-making, according to a press release issued by the University.
The lab will offer a structured Tableau e-learning pathway covering foundational data and analytics skills as well as advanced AI-powered and agentic analytics. Students will work with industry datasets and business case simulations involving dashboard creation, predictive insights, conversational analytics, cross-functional problem-solving and data-driven storytelling.
The initiative will be open to students across undergraduate, postgraduate and research programmes and will include business projects, analytics hackathons and e-learning modules. Students will also have opportunities to develop Tableau Public profiles, interactive dashboards and analytics portfolios, the university said. Salesforce will support faculty through a Train-the-Trainer programme focused on the analytics lifecycle and emerging AI capabilities, with the initiative also supporting KL University’s research and innovation priorities.
Eligible students and faculty completing the programmes will receive joint course-completion certificates from Salesforce and KL University. Through Salesforce’s Campus to Career Connect initiative, graduates will also have opportunities to engage with employers across the Salesforce ecosystem, it said. “As AI becomes increasingly embedded in how organisations work with data and make decisions, data fluency is becoming a foundational skill for the future workforce,” Romil Agarwal, Vice President, Sales, Salesforce India, said.
KL University Vice Chancellor G Pardha Saradhi Varma said the collaboration would help students strengthen analytical and problem-solving capabilities while gaining exposure to AI-powered analytics. The collaboration is part of Salesforce’s broader efforts to expand India’s AI talent ecosystem. In June 2026, the company committed to equip one million learners across India with AI-focused skills by 2030 through programmes involving academic institutions, government agencies and industry partners, Salesforce said.
